Duchess Room

Panoramic View

The Duchess Room is to the rear of the House and on the first floor. It interconnects through mahogany doors to the Duke Room. The room overlooks the walled Garden Terrace at the back of the house and is similar to the James Adam Room in that it is used predominately as a catering space for the Duke Room.

It is also ideal for smaller meetings and formal dinners with its beautiful chandeliers. The Duchess Room was originally assigned as the rear drawing room in Robert Adam's plans and, in keeping with the rest of the House, the style of decoration is dramatic and true to Robert Adam's designs and colours.

This room is typically hired as a part of a suite with the Duke Room and allows for exclusive use of the first floor of the House; its uses are therefore identical to those suggested on the Duke Room page.
